Orientation for Lay Pastor Certificate (12 credits)

The Orientation for Lay Pastor program is designed for students pursuing a Lay Pastor Certificate with the North American Ministerial Council of the General Conference of the Church of God (Seventh Day). Before requesting an application* for a Lay Pastor Certificate, students need to complete the following courses:

LEA 201 Church Administration (4)
PAM 131 Introduction to Pastoral Ministry (4)
THE 202 Intro to Church of God (Seventh Day) Doctrine (4)

Lay Pastors wishing to maintain their Lay Pastor credentials must complete an additional 8 credits from the DPM program and apply to have it renewed every two years.

*Students applying for a Lay Pastor Certificate must also pass competency exams in Bible content and receive endorsement of local church and district board.
